How fortunate I am.

I had unbelievable education opportunities at great schools:  University of Pennsylvania (1973; B.A. (cum laude)); University of Cincinnati (1976; J.D.); University of Chicago (1985; M.B.A.).  After law school, I was honored to serve our country as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Jag Corps, doing criminal defense trial work.  Following my military service, I spent 20 extraordinary years as an associate and then senior partner at Schottenstein, Zox & Dunn, a large Columbus firm, practicing in the real estate and business law departments.

In May, 2002, I fulfilled an entrepreneurial dream - to start my own law firm, Kayne Law Group.  Managing and growing my own business has made me a more effective lawyer – I appreciate more than ever the risks and issues that challenge my clients.  Entrepreneurship and capitalism have been incredibly motivating and energizing for me.  At this point in my career (as the “old man” in the office), how fortunate I am to work with partners, associates and staff who I respect, trust and really like spending my day with.  And, despite the rough economy, business is good and growing – with clients who really appreciate what we do for them.

On top of all that, I have been married for 30+ years to a wise, fun and beautiful individual – Naomi, a clinical psychologist and personal historian.  We have 3 wonderful children, each with solid values and on the path of success.

When I’m not working, I cycle, swim, ski, golf, read historical novels and work in the yard.

As I said, I feel so fortunate and blessed.

GO BUCKS!
