I was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1976 after earning my B.A. (Cum Laude) from University of Pennsylvania and my law degree from University of Cincinnati. For 3 years, I was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Jag Corps, doing criminal defense trial work. After my military service, I went back to school to earn an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. Following graduate school, I spent 20 extraordinary years as an associate and then senior partner at the Ohio regional firm - Schottenstein, Zox & Dunn, practicing in the real estate and business law departments. In May, 2002, I decided that it was time to fulfill an entrepreneurial dream - to start my own law firm, Kayne Law Group. In my estimation, managing my own business has made me a more effective lawyer – I appreciate more than ever the risks and issues that challenge my clients. Moreover, being my own boss is incredibly motivating and energizing. Entrepreneurship and capitalism really work.
When I find the time, I enjoy speaking engagements for ICSC and Columbus Bar Association seminars. My wife, Naomi, is a clinical psychologist. We have been married for 24 years and have 3 children. When I’m not working, I swim for exercise, ski, golf, read historical novels and work in the yard. GO BUCKS! |
